I had the most amazing experience with MArtina august 7th 2004! I literally am still suprised that this actually happend to a girl like me! I mean things dont happen like this to people like me! I mean usually it goes, you dream and keep dreaming of this experience and keep on dreaming until ya give up. But I wasnt going to! And look what good it did me!! An absolutly amazing night that I will remember for the rest of my life!

Lisa from Martinaville (Martina's message board) got the chance to not only meet Martina but her best friend Faith and Tim Mcgraw!! This is her experience....

"Martina was sitting in the audience but we met them in Mandalay Casino. We were walking through when we noticed Tim, Faith, Martina, and John gambling. I am a HUGE fan of Tim, Faith, and Martina.....we stood back and watched and then someone I know that works for Tim came up and we chatted. I told him we weren't going to bother them...just wanted to watch. They were alot of fun to watch. Then they took them to a private room...butt he person I know that works for Tim had said he would see if before they left if they would take a picture with us. He said it would depend on how many people were around because he didn't want to turn into a circus. So when Tima nd Faith came out he had us come intot he room and take pictures. They are so sweet. They know us from going to various events so they chatted for a short while with us. We were going to leave but I really wanted to meet Martina so we stuck around. A little while later John and Martina came out. She was also very sweet and posed for pictures."

Another Martinaviller got the change to meet MArtina at the Nashville Gardens!! WOW! Ill let her tell ya all about it!

"Oh my gosh, you guys, right now I'm going crazy. I just went to the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens here in Nashville... well... Belle Meade, with my cousin and his wife and their baby. Anyways, we were just walking around enjoying everything, and all of the sudden, my cousin turns to me (knowing I'm a huge Martina fan) and says, you're going to freak out... and I'm like, why, what? And he said, Martina McBride is right there. I go what, are you serious? So she's just standing there watching Emma play. John and Delaney were'nt there. So anyways, I'm just playing with the baby Charley, and I'm like, okay I have to go say something, cause at first I was just going to leave her alone... but I couldn't pass this up. So, I walked over to her and I said, I'm so sorry, but I just have to say hi to you. And she goes, Well hello! I said, I'm such a huge fan of yours, you're just so great. I'm from Kansas, too! And she said, oh really, where at? Overland Park, I said. Then she goes, so do you live in Nashville now? And I said, yeah, I'm a student at MTSU and I'm actually flying back to Kansas City in 3 weeks just to see your show. And she was like, wow that's awesome, what was your name again? So then I told her my name and everything. Then my cousins wife came up (who could care less about country or famous people), and shes like, can I get a picture of you two? Martina said, oh of course! Then I said it was so great to meet you have a great day, and she said, you too, see you in a few weeks! AHHHH, can you believe it? This is the best day of my whole life. I'm just in such shock and so happy! Just thought I'd share the great news.... =) "

OMG! Last night was THE best night of my entire life! I mean all 22 years and 11 months!

First of all, the show was amazing! I have never been that close to the stage at a concert and through pretty much the first half of the show, I had happy tears nearly streaming down my face. I was over-whelmed with joy just to be where I was -that close to Martina! I honestly didn't really pay attention to the setlist, I mean I OF COURSE listened to the songs, but I was just too in the moment to concentrate on the order.

Now for the dream come true: At the Assembly Hall, they don't allow signs/banners, so I was a little bumbed after I got the idea from a fellow martinaviller Wild Angel, but I thought, "Maybe they won't check purses too thoroughly", so I decided to fold it up and put it in my purse. So, at the end of She's a Butterfly, because I was afraid of getting in trouble and I thought it wouldn't work anyway, my friend held up my sign saying "Martina, may I please sing with you? -Your #1 fan Steph. And all of the sudden Martina looks right at us and says "I see a sign... It says (reads the sign). She then says Are you Stephanie? Sure, why not? Somebody help Stephanie up to the stage" in a really cheerful tone. Then people were getting out of their chairs and letting me climb over them. When I finally got to the stage, Martina goes "How are you?" I was like "Fine" -in a really excited tone. Then she says "What do you want to sing?" I said "I know all of your songs, so it really doesn't matter", and the audience laughed at that. Then she goes "How about Safe In the Arms of Love?" I was like "Okay!" So, the music started and I started singing. And she ended up letting me sing the whole song, but sang with me on some parts. At the end I said "This has been a dream for 12 years!" And she said "Well, you did it girl, what's your last name? I said Rabus, and she said Stephanie Rabus from Champaign, IL to Nashville, TN! Then I left the stage and she said "Wasn't that awesome? She sang her butt off! And then something like "Well, thank you and goodnight!" -obviously jokingly. Oh, and she hugged me a lot! And then she said "Speaking of dreams come true, I love to be able to get to do that for someone. I have dreams come true everyday, and one was last December when I got the sing with one of my idols Pat Benetar....and from there she sang Hit Me With Your Best Shot! It was the best moment/night of my life...oh did I say that already? After the show, everywhere I went, people were coming up to me and saying "You were awesome!" The news station out there said they'd like to interview me! It was crazy, but sooo amazing! It was awesome to see "the pants" in person too. LOL I took 2 rolls of film, though they did not allow my good camera, so I had to use a cheapo, but its something. Plus, I brought my mini tape recorder and recorded the whole thing (our song), but only half the show. I called the guys in my band and said "Now we HAVE TO do Safe In The Arms of Love because it holds a special place in my heart now! What an amazing night! No experience will ever be able to top that one! I'm crying now thinking about it! She is the sweetest, coolest, most talented person in the world. It was such an honor to see her impressed by my singing! Wow! Okay, this is now a novel, so I better end it now, but it was a night I'll NEVER forget!
